1. vocabulary preview

  • quite ill = very sick
  • the flu ：a sickness，worse than a cold

2. language take away

  1. headache : means you have a sore head ;

  2. sore throat : sore means painful , so maybe you will have a sore leg after running a long distance ;

  3. running nose : lots of water come out from your nose ;(其实就是流鼻涕)

  4. slightly feverish : slightly means a little bit , and feverish means you feel your body is really hot ;

  5. recover : get better , and not only use in sickness .

    example :

    I was so busy this week , I need to recover at this weekend .

3. fluency builder

  1. I am coming down with = I am beginning to get sick

    example:

    I’m coming down with something/cold/flu .

  2. calling in sick : express that you are not gonna go to work because you are sick

  3. take a day/week/month/year off = not go to work today/this week/this month/this year
