My diary friend

Above are all my diary notebooks. They are my good friends and teachers. 18 years ago, I just entered middle school, my Chinese teacher recommended me to attend a school composition competition. Although I didn’t get an ideal ranking. I got this notebook as my prize. In order to do better, I asked my teacher “how should I improve my writing skill?” “Using the notebook to write” She answered. So it became my first diary notebook which listened to my stories and taught me control emotions. At that period, as a teenager girl, I was sentimental. I couldn’t get along well with my mother, you know, when a teenage meet an involutional woman, nothing is impossible. My good friend isolated me because the boy who she liked gives me a love letter; I quarreled with my PE teacher at the class then was punished to stand under the sun……Nobody could listen to my heart except my diary. I’m afraid I might become a rebellious girl, if there was no my diary. I wrote down all my emotions, all my secrets, all my sadness in the notebook. The more I wrote the more I became clam. Gradually, diary became a best friend to control my emotion. In the following years, writing diary also helped me to spend the lonely foreign country living life and the painful brokenhearted time.

This notebook helped me work efficiently. In 2014, I became a freelancer. During my first freelancer days, I just liked a released bird from a cage, I was really enjoyed the free. I didn’t sleep until 1 or 2 am and can’t wake up at 12 pm. I often forgot to have lunch or dinner. This was not because I throw all of myself into the work, but because I felt so cool to do so. While, there was no longer cool soon, my stomach became worse and I couldn’t focus on work at a long time as lacking of sleep. At the depressed time, my dairy friend helped again. I met this notebook, I wrote down 3 important things as a memo every morning. I ticked them to supervise me. Besides, I also used it to force me to practice yoga, eat and sleep regular every day. Like this……

Now, I have practiced yoga for three years and my stomach illness has totally cured.

The diary is not only helping me to enhance the work efficiency but also cultivate me a persistent character. Some educator said you don’t need willpower to insist, what you only need is to cultivate one habit. I do believe this. After writing diary becomes my habit, it seems to me easier to cultivate other habits. Such as doing exercise, reading English, sleeping before 11 and delivering speeches in TM.

“A friend indeed is a friend in need.” So many years, my diary helps me to control the emotion; improve my work efficiency; cultivate me a persistent character. She is a real friend!
